What challenges are you facing?
Finding purpose and balance
Sometimes, without realising it, we go about our lives, at work, at home, without really questioning where we are going or whether this is the best way to live our lives. Whether it is finding a balance between working hours, family time and personal space or finding out what really motivates you - this coaching approach can help you.
Stepping into your leadership
Lack of confidence, self-doubt, reluctance to take responsibility or make important decisions: as we start to grow, the amount of responsibility that comes with it can be quite daunting. If you feel you need some guidance to navigate this and to find your authentic voice as a leader, check this program.
Parenting with intention
Becoming a parent was the hardest job I have ever had. And suddenly, after my maternity leave, everything became far too busy to allow me to think about the parent I really wanted to be for my children. It was always triaged and I ended up parenting mainly from a place of reaction. The Inner Parent program changed that for me and my clients.
Tailored coaching services
My experience as a People Manager as well as in HR gave me inside skills to prepare individuals for job interviews, teach employees how to set up feasible goals (and how to pursue them) and develop tools and methods to prevent burn-out. If you want to learn more about each of these approaches check the Coaching Offers page.
About me
Hi, I'm Carol. I help people get clarity about what they want for their lives and how to move forward.
I believe that everyone has everything they need to become whatever they want to be in life. Through years of mentoring students in Mozambique, helping change-makers around the world and managing employees to reach their full potential, I have seen this time and time again: all they needed was some guidance to learn how to access their inner resources.
It took me years of working in different jobs - as a journalist, a professor, an activist, a People and Culture team member, a mother - to understand that what I loved about all of them was the opportunity to empower others. When I finally realised that, I decided to fully focus on it.
I trained as a Co-Active Coach, quit my job and dedicated my career to unlocking the potential of others, which is what brings me joy in my life. You should know that I am an adventurer, a sports addict, love to connect with people and am someone who starts dancing when a nice song comes on (no matter where I am). I offer coach both in English and Portuguese.
How does my coaching work?
What is Co-Active coaching?
Co-Active coaching emphasizes a collaborative partnership between the coach and the coachee. Developed by the Co-Active Training Institute (CTI), this model is built on four cornerstones: (1) the belief in people's inherent creativity and resourcefulness, (2) the importance of being present in the moment, (3) focusing on the whole person, and (4) evoking transformation.
Free Chemistry Call
If you think we could work well together, the first step is to book a free chemistry session. I will explain to you in more detail what coaching is, how I work and what your needs are so that we can decide if this is a good fit. As a bonus, you'll get a 15-30 minute coaching trial to give you a taste of what to expect.
Sessions Package
Typically the coaching journey lasts between 5 and 10 sessions over 3 to 5 months and can be arranged according to the client's preference. Some like to have a session every week, others every other week or even once a month. This can all be arranged according to the client's needs.
One-off Session
There is also a possibility to have one-off sessions, especially if you are trying to get through something specific like setting feasible goals or preparing for a job interview. You can check more details under Coaching Offers.

Unlearning Limitations
It was late in the afternoon in 2021. We were sitting at the table finishing off some bread and jam. My daughter, who was almost 7 at the time, was trying to understand how decisions about climate policy were made in Germany. After some discussions, we ended the conversation by saying that a lot of it was up to Angela Merkel, because she was the chancellor.
“Why aren't you the chancellor, mum?”

The Power of Knowing Your Values
“What are your core values?” She asked me, looking at my face on the other side of the zoom camera, miles away from me, as if she was asking me the most trivial question anyone could ask. My manager took me by surprise. After all, you're supposed to know what your core values are, right?
“Hmm... responsibility, independence, respect, care, integrity, honesty…” I started…

The power of asking for help and accepting it
It was November 2008. I was in Barcelona, had broken up with my boyfriend a few hours earlier, didn't have much money and had about 10 days left of my holiday. That evening I decided to take a train to Galicia and walk more than 100 km along the Camino de Santiago. It would be cheap, I would move my body and I would be able to see the region of my relatives.
